WOODSTOCK’S Sophie Carter helped first-claim club Belgrave Harriers to eighth place in the National Road Relays at Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield.
Each team was made up of six runners, who ran a leg each in cold and blustery conditions.
Carter was Harriers’ second leg runner and lifted the team from 15th to eighth, where they remained for the rest of the race.
She completed the 5.5 mile stint in 33 minutes.
The first and second legs were the longest of the six, with a hill climb at the end of the route.
Carter was the first woman to cross the line at last month’s OX5 Run at Blenheim Palace.
