Oxford Hawks completed a miraculous recovery to avoid finishing in the relegation zone of the Men's South Division of the National League with a 6-2 win at Whitchurch - despite finding themselves 2-0 behind after ten minutes.

Hawks won three of their final four games to end the season third from bottom, and now face Halham - who came third from bottom in the Men's North Division - in a two-leg relegation play-off on April 14-15.

And they have scored 18 goals in the process.

A nervy start saw Hawks 2-0 behind, before they hit top gear.

Ben Edgehill made it 2-1, before Jordache Rawson equalised from short corner just before half-time.

Rawson put Hawks in front after good work by skipper Nick Lamb, before Huw Jones capped an impressive display to make it 4-2.

Jones added his second, before substitute Gareth Barker sealed victory.

However, Hawks were forced to wait until confirmation came through that Plymouth Marjon had lost to University of Birmingham before starting their celebrations.
