YOUNG racing driver Marcus Weller has secured a deal to race in this season's Formula Ford UK Championship.
Weller, 18, from Greatworth, raced last year in the Formula BMW UK Championship after winning a BMW scholarship which provided a full works drive for the year.
This year, he considered several options, including a return to karting, before signing for Formula Ford, one of the top championships for up and coming drivers.
He said: "It is a fantastic opportunity because I will have a hugely experienced team behind me and they have the best engines.
"So there is no reason why I can't go out there and win."
To complete the deal, he is looking for sponsorship from local businesses - offering them TV coverage and big crowds at meetings across the UK in return for their investment.
The season will start for Marcus on April 9 at Oulton Park, Cheshire.
The 25-race series will also visit Snetterton, Thruxton, Croft, and Rockingham race tracks.
