Chinnor can no longer avoid relegation from National 3 South after losing 43-8 at home to Canterbury.

A penalty from Ben Hewitt and try from Richard Williams saw them trail 17-8 in the first half, but the visitors came on strong after the break.

Three teams go down. Chinnor can reach 39 points, but with Clifton and Hertford playing each other on April 14, one of them will gain at least two points.

Clifton's points difference is almost 300 better than Chinnor's - an impossible deficit for the Oxfordshire side to breach.

All they can do now is fight to avoid the division's wooden spoon.

  • Henley Hawks slipped to third place in National 2 after Launceston's 54-14 win at home to Bradford & Bingley.

Meanwhile, Buckingham defeated Beaconsfield 28-22 to heighten Chipping Norton's relegation fears in Southern Counties North.
