Didcot Town ended their desperate run with a scintillating performance to beat high-flying Paulton Rovers 3-0 in British Gas Business Southern League Division 1 South & West at the npower Loop Meadow Stadium on Saturday.

Town dominated before the break, but it was Paulton who almost took an early lead when Pete Sheppard's long-range volley grazed the bar.

Paul Powell went close with a low shot and it took a stunning save from Dave Dyson to keep out Jack King's header.

Didcot had signed Josh Kennet and Josh Mulvaney on loan from Oxford United on Friday.

And Kennet caused the Paulton left flank all sorts of problems, that supplied a pin-point cross for King to force another fine save out of Dyson, who then denied Powell to save once more from close-range.

Powell with the next opportunity but Dyson was equal to his shot.

Defender Dale Peckam then cleared King's looping header off the line and two more goal-line clearances denied Didcot with Lee Bryant hooking Andy Parrot's shot away before Nick Hudson foiled Powell.

Didcot finally broke the deadlock in the second half, Powell heading home King's left-wing cross.

Rovers were unlucky to see Rob Cousins's firm header slam onto the crossbar.

Didcot increased their lead when Kennet made a 60-yard run into the Paulton half before squaring the ball to Concannon, who finished in style.

Andy Parrott headed home the third from Matty Jack's cross in the 76th minute to seal victory.
