Cropredy secured the Division 1 title in the Banbury Indoor League, but nearly threw it away as they edged out King's Sutton by one wicket.

Nathan Hawkes claimed 2-8 and James Coleman 2-12 as Cropredy dismissed King's Sutton for just 54, but in their attempt to gain bonus points, Cropredy lost wickets regularly, only Hawkes (27) helping his side over the winning line.

Great Tew ended Banbury's title hopes with a 25-run win.

Victory could have given Banbury the title, and they looked in good shape when they restricted Great Tew to 86-4.

But Ian Hawtin fell early, and only Ed Smith (22) made an impression as they were bowled out for just 61 in reply, Piers Myatt taking 2-21.

Banbury A saw off local rivals Banbury Twenty by four wickets, condemning Twenty to relegation.

Ian Adams took 3-13 as Twenty were shot out for 41, and Banbury eased home.

Rob Garrett was the star for Charlbury beat Sandford St Martin by four wickets.

Sandford had posted 96-4, Chas Taylor top-scoring with 34 not out.

But Garrett (26no) helped Charlbury to victory with three balls left.

The AGM and presentation evening is on April 18 at Banbury Cricket Club (7.30pm).
