Didcot Town boss Stuart Peace has spoken of his delight after Andy Lyne joined them from British Gas Business Southern League Division 1 South & West rivals Oxford City.

Last year, Lyne was manager when City won the Spartan League before he quit earlier this season.

He then became director of football at Court Place Farm with Justin Merritt taking over as player-boss and Mike Ford as his assistant.

Peace, whose side host Paulton Rovers tomorrow, is delighted with his new acquisition.

"He's coming in as part of my management set-up," said Peace.

"I'm still going to be first-team gaffer and Paul Noble my assistant.

"I know Andy very well. He has got a lot of experience at this level of football and knows a lot of players."

Defender Dave Green (groin) faces a late test.

Abingdon United manager Andy Slater says his side's next two games could help decide the outcome of their season - starting with the trip to Winchester City.

"Tuesday's game against Oxford City (Abingdon won 3-0) was an important win for us," said Slater whose side take on Beaconsfield next week.

"These next two games are crucial for us if we want to get into the play-offs."

Abingdon are boosted by the return from injury of Michael Alexis, while Kamran Abassi is raring to go after regaining full fitness.

They are without Jermaine McSporran (hamstring).

Oxford City give a debut to centre half Stuart Cattell against visitors Brook House after signing him from Wycombe.

With Lewis Craker and Mark Avery suspended, City are short at the back.

Cattell was a second year scholar at the Coca-Cola League outfit, but did not get offered a professional contract.

Banbury United are sweating on the fitness of defender Keiron Sullivan ahead of their Premier Division home game against Tiverton.

Sullivan has been sidelined with a calf injury and will have a fitness test as will Stuart Bridges (knee).

Paul Lamb (ankle) is out, but Jody McKay is included after re-joining from Bicester Town.
