Nelson A stayed on course to land the Premier Section title in the Oxford & District League with a 5-0 home win over Section 1 leaders Democrats A.
Keith Sheard (15,610), Pauline Withey (10,740), Steven Sheard (5,690), Ray Sturgess (7,580) and Kevin Godfrey (7,530) shone for Nelson, who now need three points to be crowned champions.
Dolphin A kept up their challenge with a 3-2 win at Gladiators A.
Jimmy Robson (6,530), Dave Barnes (7,350) and Paul Caistor (10,150) gave Dolphin the edge with Malcolm Lee (4,570) and Frank Cox (7,020) replying.
Alan Oliver played the table out with 13,520 to help Corner House to a 3-2 win at Masons B.
Ian Moss and Bob Allsworth (5,690) were Corner House's other winners, with Chris Webb (11,370) and Ernie Smith (5,050) replying.
Section 1 side Masons A had a superb 3-2 win at Premier team Didcot Conservative Club.
Brian Rose (4,670), Dave Rose (6,770) and Alan Lowe (3,730) starred for Masons as Dennis Atkins (13,070) and Jenny Abbott (3,680) were unable to save Didcot.
Masons A and Democrats A are now tied at the top on 40 points with Masons B on 38 points.
Democrats B won 3-2 at home to Gladiators B, with Steve Huntley (9,430) the top performer.
