Former Oxford City player Richard Peirson bagged all three goals as Abingdon United emerged emphatic 3-0 winners of last night's Southern League Division 1 South & West local derby.
City's Kieron Drake denied Ryan Brooks early on, while Mark Jones and Alex Stewart went close at the other end.
United went ahead on 26 minutes thanks to Peirson's looping header from a Scott Davis free-kick.
City forced three corners towards the end of the half, but all three were cleared.
Peirson made it 2-0 in the 59th minute, firing home after confusion reigned in the visitors' box.
Little was seen of the City attack after the break, and it was left to Peirson to finish them off with his hat-trick late on after a pin-point cross from Anaclet Odhiambo.
