Oxfordshire ladies pulled off an impressive 5-4 victory over Hertfordshire on Frilford Heath's Green Course.
The morning foursome duo of Jane Binning (Frilford) and Tilly Holder (Oxford Ladies) got off to a flier with a 6 & 5 victory over Liz Shutler and Julie Dyke.
Sarah Amos (Studley Wood) and Annie Gowing (Frilford) defeated Morag Morrison and Charlie Field 2 & 1.
Lauren Jupp (Oxon junior captain, Studley) and Sarah Arnold (Henley) managed a 3 & 2 win over Harriet Kay and Lauren Bradford.
Singles victories for Binning, 3 & 2 over Morrison, and Jupp, 4 & 3 over Field, ensured Oxon's 5-4 success.
- Frilford ladies' champion Jane Binning clinched a dramatic play-off victory over Chipping Norton in round two of the Mail on Sunday National Golf Club Classic.
Chippy's Jayne Laurie used her 11-shot handicap advantage to defeat Welsh international Katherine O'Connor 3 & 2.
Jane Smith put Chippy 2-0 up, beating Fay Banks 2 & 1 before Angela Tyreman earned Frilford's first half point against Jenny Reynolds.
Kate Evans reduced the deficit with a 3 & 2 victory over Ann Johnson, but Binning had to recover from three down to defeat Kate Stagg and then seal the tie on the first extra hole.
