Witney coach Matt Watts says his players should be full of confidence as they approach "three massive matches".

Not only have they won through to their second successive Oxfordshire Cup final, they also face title-decising clashes in Southern Counties North either side of it.

Watts said: "We've got three massive matches ahead. Bletchley at home, the cup final against Quins, then Amersham at home.

"But there's no reason why we can't win the league and the cup.

"As for the cup, the lads will believe that we can go there and win.

"We are much better on the ball than we were last year.

"We've got to be right at the top of our game and Quins will have to be below par.

"We know they are a good side, but we are confident that we can beat them.

"Maybe last year things didn't go our way.

"I'm just looking forward to half of Witney coming to support us on March 24.

"It's just a shame that Quins are in the final without playing a game."

Witney lie second in the league, two points behind leaders Bletchley, so Saturday's clash at Hailey Road is a must-win game if they are to take the title.

"To win the league is still our priority," said Watts. "Fortunately it is still there for us if we really, really want it."

Witney's 18-0 semi-final victory over Chinnor 2nd was a testament to hard work, especially up front where Watts says forwards coach John Campbell deserves a lot of credit.

Watts said: "The performance against Chinnor made all those horrible Tuesday and Thursday training sessions worthwhile.

"I can't remember them once going at us from the back of the scrum.

"John Campbell has done some great work with the forwards and it's paying off.

"We work hard in training. We don't just turn up and have a jog. They are fitter this year."
