CHRIS Norrington is already looking for more success after coaching Wallingford to the BB&O Premier Division title.

The club's second team are still hunting for promotion from BB&O Division 2 South and the firsts are in the Oxfordshire Shield final.

Norrington said: "We said in our pre-season newsletter that we had to go for promotion with both teams.

"The seconds are still in contention and that would be the icing on the cake if it happened.

"As for the Shield, sometimes part of me thinks 'is that too much to wish for? But the way the guys are playing and the confidence they are showing, we've got to be favourites for that as well.

"It will be a good day out either way. The focus was winning the league."

Norrington added: "This is my first promotion as a coach, although I have done it a couple of times as a player.

"We have used 30 odd players in the first team and we've had a strong second team, so the strength in depth is great.

"This is the best prepared we have been for going up, which is important.

"The togetherness and the way they play for each other is obviously the overriding factor for our success.

"They are good mates off the field and it shows when they are on the pitch.

"I'm pleased for Jerry Walters and all the other committee members, who have done so much for us. The club is on the up.

"I'm just lucky I've got the players, who can put our plan into action. They totally believe in the way we play the game.

"There's tries throughout the team. The forwards are comfortable in the open, we are not just one dimensional."
