Holders Banbury United are sweating on the fitness of midfielder Paul Lamb ahead of tonight's Oxfordshire Senior Cup quarter-final at North Leigh.

The ex-Aylesbury United skipper is struggling to be fit after going over on an ankle during Saturday's British Gas Business Southern League Premier Division defeat at home to Hemel Hempstead Town.

They are already without defender Les Robinson (unavailable), though striker Andy Baird should return after missing the Hemel game for personal reasons.

Saturday's loss was Banbury's sixth League Premier Division reverse in a row.

"It's not a very pleasant time at the moment," said boss Kevin Brock.

"But we'll take a win anywhere. I don't know what the pitch is like at Witney, but if it's called off the rules state that the game is switched.

"I don't mind where it's played, as long as we get a win."

North Leigh will have to cope with the loss of James Mortimer-Jones (knee injury), Liam Hope (suspended) and the unavailable Andy McCabe.

They also have injury doubts over Stuart Huxley (back), Jamie Jackson and Danny Wise.

Despite a weakened line-up, chairman Pete King says Mark Gee's side wil give a good account of themselves.

"I know Banbury are struggling, but they are two leagues above us and as holders they will want to keep the cup," he said.

"It's a tough ask, but I still think we can give them a good games."

North Leigh are confident their Eynsham Park pitch will be fit for the game to go ahead despite the recent heavy rain.

The winners face Chinnor in the semi-finals.

Witney United have been hit by the loss of four players for their quarter-final at Oxford City.

Midfielder John McMahon is unavailable, striker Lee Keyes is suspended, while Jamie Butt and Mark Threlfall are cup-tied.

Boss Spencer Keyes added: "McMahon and Keyes are big losses, but we are still taking a strong squad.

"I think, looking at both sides, there is not a lot to chose between them. They are the favourites, but we are looking forward to the challenge."

City are set to be at full strength, with assistant manager Mike Ford optimistic the game will go ahead.

Ardley United await the winners.
