Sam van de Schootbrugge had a triple success as he helped City of Oxford sweep the board at the Oxon & North Bucks distance championships in Milton Keynes.

Competing in the 14 & under age group, the 13-year-old was crowned junior 15 & under county champion after winning the 400m, 1500m freestyle and 400m individual medley events in Milton Keynes.

In the 14 & under girls, Laura Ralph won the county junior title in the 400m IM, placing her second overall in the county.

She was second in the 800m freestyle and third in the 400m freestyle.

Joe Canlan-Shaw (19), returning from Loughborough University, was crowned champion in the 400m free and 400m individual medley.

David Norridge added to the men's success with victory in the 15 & under 400m freestyle. That placed him second in the junior championship, one place better than in the 1500m freestyle.

Matthew Corbett (16) was runner-up in the senior men's. However, injury prevented him from swimming in the 400m events.

Ten-year-old Thomas Ruddle set a personal best as he finished the 400m freestyle in 5mins 25.64secs to win his age group.

Molly Williamson (11) and Pippa Canlan-Shaw (17) were third in their age group 400m freestyle.

Laura Sherwood was fourth in the 15 & under 400m IM and fifth in the freestyle. Hannah Vine (12) was fifth in the 400m freestyle.

CITY of Oxford won eight gold medals at the Bracknell and Wokingham Master's open meet. They also won 14 silvers and ten bronze.
