Kingston Bagpuize, Oxfordshire indoor champions for the past two years, were knocked out by Cumnor in a closely-fought semi-final at Abingdon School.

In tomorrow’s final, Cumnor will take on Horspath.

After being inserted, Cumnor reached 98 all out in the last of their ten overs, led by 26 from opener Tom Parsons. Matthew Warner was the pick of the bowlers with 3-25.

Kingston’s reply got off to a flying start with 32 off the first two overs, but a flurry of wickets saw them slip to 44-3 after three.

The loss of two further wickets left them needing 16 with the last man in.

Warner battled on, but was run out on 41 with the champions still eight runs short. John Williams picked up 3-22.

Horspath easily overcame Wolvercote, who were dismissed for a modest 54, Will Eason taking 2-12.

Horspath knocked off the runs off in six overs thanks to an unbeaten 25 from Luke Finch.

The deciding match in the women’s league between Banbury and Oxford is at 12.15 tomorrow followed by the Cumnor v Horspath final at 1.30.
