Coneygree is set to return to the spotlight after his fairytale triumph in the Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup when he parades at Newbury’s meeting on Saturday.
Mark and Sara Bradstock, who train the eight-year-old at Letcombe Bassett, near Wantage, have agreed to let their stable star go on show as the curtain comes down on the Berkshire course’s jumps season.
Coneygree will be accompanied to Newbury by his half-brother, Carruthers, who is set to run in a handicap chase over an extended three miles and two furlongs – the course and distance over which he captured the 2011 Hennessy Gold Cup.
Sara said of Coneygree: “It will be interesting to see if he likes the idea of being a celebrity because he can get a bit restless.”
She added that he is also set to make an appearance at the Lambourn Open Day on Good Friday, April 3.

Meanwhile, the Old Manor Stables have been inundated with emails, letters and cards offering congratulations.
“Everybody has been wonderful,” added Sara.
“People do love a fairytale, and it is a fairytale in so many ways.
“The mare (Plaid Maid) was bought for nothing and we are the little guys with ten horses and people are very pleased.”
She felt that Coneygree’s victory over horses belonging to big-spending owners only added to the fairytale.
“I think the nice thing that comes out of it is that you can do it as we beat horses that are owned by Rich Ricci (Djaka-dam) and Gigginstown (Road To Riches),” she said.
“It shows it can happen.”
