ABINGDON’S Duncan Talbot won silver at the British Masters Indoor Pentathlon Championships at Lee Valley, Enfield.
Competing in the men’s 60 age group, Talbot finished runner-up with 2,729 points as London Heathside’s Adrian Essex struck gold with 2,983.
Talbot’s performances included 1.45m in the high jump – a clearance which broke the Southern Counties, Oxfordshire and Abingdon records.
Clubmate Marc Juffkins finished fourth in the men’s 45 age group with 2,285, with Oxford City’s Matthew Reece fifth with 2,270.
- DAVID Kuester ruled supreme in the WTC Heavy Weight Triathlon World Cup at the Moorways Stadium, Derby.
The Bicester AC and Oxford City AC Veterans triathlete was first in the 70+ age group with a combined distance of 54.63m.
This success moves him up three places in the world rankings to seventh.
He also led the way in the Midland Masters (British) Throwers Group LSW Strongest Man/Woman (Light) Championships in the 70+ age group with an impressive personal best 1,885 points.
