ABINGDON United halted runaway leaders Bashley's charge to the title in a very high-tempo Southern League Division 1 South & West game - and probably even shaded it.
In the second minute, Andy Ballard's header was pushed over the bar by David Elm and Ballard had another header well saved later in the game.
Abingdon's best chance came on 35 minutes when Richard Peirson ran through with only the keeper to beat, but he saved with his feet.
Bashley's best opportunity arrived in the second half when their leading scorer, Richard Gillespie, found himself free at a corner and headed wide when he probably should have scored.
Abingdon Utd: Tricker, Moss, Organ, Davis, Woodley, Ballard, Brooks, Herbert, Peirson (Ferreira 65), Odhiambo, Curtin. Subs not used: Mills, McSporran, Zappi, Hawkin.
