Hemel Hempstead 2, Banbury Utd 0
Banbury United gave a better showing than last Saturday but struggled to break down their opponents and were beaten by two second-half goals in their Southern League Premier Division game.
Olly Stanbridge was put through on the left, took the ball into the box to shoot only for keeper Steve Smith to dive and save at his feet.
And Howard Forinton should have scored just before half-time.
Then on 57 minutes Gary Sippets worked the ball over from the bye-line and 6ft 4in Chris Wild headed in at the far post to put Hemel ahead.
Hemel struck again in the 62nd minute when Shaun Byrne shot home.
Banbury Utd: Thornton, Blossom, Kinch, Sullivan, Jackson, Pond (Gardner 70), Bridges, Lamb, Forinton, Redknap (Foley 82), Stanbridge. Sub not used: Nicholls.
