Wallingford fell one short of a century as they demolished Swindon College 99-0 at the Hithercroft in BB & O League Premier Division.

The hosts ran in 17 tries in a prolific afternoon and it was only the wayward boot of captain Olli Henderson that stopped them reaching treble figures for the second time this season.

Winger Johnny Collett opened the try feast, followed by scores from full back Henry Venners and centre Don Jenkins.

Olli Henderson, flankers Matt Chapman and Pete Holton, winger Nick Risk, centre Pete Lloyd and No 8 Simon Henderson all crossed before the break.

Four conversions from the skipper made it 53-0, but he could only add another two in the second half, with Venners slotting one.

Don Jenkins popped up next with the try of the afternoon, followed by scrum half Derek Viljoen.

Olli Henderson completed a hat-trick, Holton, Risk and Venners braces, while Peter Thorns ran in Wallingford's other try in a half, which still saw them spurn several other opportunities.

Bicester's 25-18 win at Stow-on-the-Wold, plus Slough's loss at Broadmoor Staff, gave them fresh promotion hope.

Full back Chad Ward's penalty gave Bicester the lead, but his opposite number Bradley Wrench equalised in kind.

Anthony Lewis touched down Ross Kenny's grubber kick for Bicester's first try and Ward converted.

A second Ward penalty made it 13-3 before Stow captain Craig Chapman ploughed over.

The visitors remained lively, scoring again through centre John Rollason, with Ward converting from out wide.

Winger Rob Reams crossed for Stow, but Bicester put together a scintillating move that prop Tony Shaw finished.

The visitors lacked fluency once scrum half Nick Kenny went off with a leg injury, but only conceded a late try to replacement prop Ian Beasley.
