Banbury United are hoping striker Andy Baird can shake off a hamstring injury in time for tonight's British Gas Business Southern League Premier Division trip to Hemel Hempstead.

He was suspended for Banbury's 2-0 defeat by Northwood on Saturday, and manager Kevin Brock hopes the lay-off has helped Baird's recovery.

"We've got some big games coming up," said Brock.

"We have to play Bath City and King's Lynn in the next month, so it's vital we get something from our next two games (they host Corby on Saturday).

"We were unbeaten in five matches, then we lost our last two, so we need to put it right tonight."

Abingdon United could be without striker Jermaine McSporran when they host runaway leaders Bashley in Division 1 South & West.

The former Oxford City and Banbury United frontman He faces a late fitness test after missing the last few games with a hamstring injury.

Ryan Curtin is hoping to shake off a virus, while Richard Peirson is struggling with a hamstring injury.

They will be without striker Mark Simms after he joined Witney United.

Didcot Town welcome back striker Ray Spence from suspension when they host Merthyr Tydfil in the Errea Cup fourth round.

Although Spence played in an earlier round for Oxford City, the cup-tie rule does not apply.

Andy Parrott could miss out due to work commitments, while Gary Wickens is unavailable.

Didcot are stuggling since Stuart Beavon departed for Weymouth.

"I thought we more than matched them, said boss Stuart Peace.

"But we didn't get the goal and they did. We lacked a cutting edge. We need to start winning again."
