A thrilling finale to the Banbury Indoor League saw Hinton secure the second promotion spot in Division 2.

A 28-run victory over champions Preston Capes saw Hinton pip Great & Little Tew A and Westbury by just one point to go up.

Richard Freeman and Michael Loggin both hit 27 not out as Hinton rattled up 123-4 in their ten overs.

David Bull replied with 25 for Preston Capes, but they ended on 95-5.

Great Tew thumped Sandford A by 40 runs, Jack Taylor hitting an unbeaten 47.

But their failure to take more than three wickets cost them a crucial extra bonus point.

The same was true of Westbury, who were frustrated by Broughton & North Newington.
