Oxfordshire's Under 18s booked their place in the final of the Mick Parry Knockout Trophy for the first time with another display of attacking football in their 3-1 win over Berks & Bucks at Oxford University's Iffley Road ground.

The scoreline means that Oxon have scored 18 goals in only three games to reach the final.

The early pressure came from the home side, and a deep cross from Mark Bell (Oxford City) in the fifth minute allowed fellow City player Ben Hepburn to score an easy opening goal.

Oxon continued to maintain the pressure with Adam Learoyd (Didcot Town), Mark Flanagan (Abingdon Town) and Bell all going close.

Berks & Bucks equalised in the 35th minute when Oxon failed to deal with a cross, but the hosts were back in front within two minutes through Flanagan.

Straight from the restart, Tom Bennington (North Leigh) was called on to preserve Oxon's lead, diving low to turn a fierce shot around a post.

Oxfordshire's attack gained extra bite in the second half with the introduction of Neil McMahon (Kidlington) for Hepburn.

The game was made safe with the best strike of the game with 15 minutes left.

Although tightly marked, Mark Janes (Kidlington) controlled a cross to blast home an unstoppable goal.

The victory, however, came at a cost.

Paul Alder (Kidlington) limped off, and his replacement, Jamie De Banks (Kidlington) was stretchered off with a broken leg.
