Banbury United boss Paul Davis feels his players face a tough scrap as they host Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West side Evesham United in a FA Trophy first qualifying round replay tonight, writes MATTHEW BRUCE.

The Puritans conceded a 92nd-minute equaliser on Saturday at Evesham, and Davis admitted they will have to deal with a buoyant visiting side.

“This will probably be their cup final now,” he said. “It’s the last competition they’re in other than the league and they will give everything to stay alive in it.”

Banbury are without Ben Whitehead (cup-tied) and Harry Jervis (suspended).

But joint manager Ian Concannon hailed the impact of returning Ryan Brooks, who came back from a loan spell at Ardley United to score in their 3-3 draw on Saturday.

A trip to Uxbridge awaits the winners.
