EDDIE Pepperell fired an excellent third round of 68 to move into the top ten at the BMW PGA Championship.
The Abingdon golfer hit five birdies and a bogey for a four-under-par total at Wentworth.
It took the 23-year-old into a share of seventh place, with several rivals still to complete their day's work.
Beginning the day two-under for the tournament, he picked up shots at the fourth and eighth to reach the turn in 33.
A dropped shot at the 11th stalled the progress, but Pepperell rallied with birdies at the 14th, 16th and 17th to finish on six-under through 54 holes.
While well adrift of leader Thomas Bjorn, the Frilford Heath golfer is in contention for a strong finish at the European Tour's flagship event for the second season running.
Last year Pepperell claimed a share of sixth place, two shots away from a play-off.
