OXFORDSHIRE’S India Mae Thompson has been selected for the ICO England kickboxing team to compete at the World Championships in Tuscany, Italy, later this year.
The 11-year-old, from Fordwells, near Witney, has only been performing the martial art for 15 months and has already picked up seven trophies.
Thompson, a pupil at Burford School, trains most nights at Windrush Kickboxing Club, Witney, where she is coached by former British, European and world champion Chris Hoyles.
She also trains with the England squad in Birmingham once a month.
The youngster, who will compete in Tuscany from October 28 to November 3, has recently picked up sponsorship from Brewers Decorating Merchants, A40 Van Sales, Formec Ground Work and Harris & Thomson Decorators.
