Gladiators Club A won 3-2 at Premier Section side Didcot Conservative Club in the Johnson Buildbase Oxford League, writes PETE EWINS.
Keith Gardner, Dave Jarman and Jenny Cox, who surprised Dave Tooke, were Gladiators’ winners.
Dennis Atkins (8,190) and Stuart Florey (7,570) replied for Didcot.
Vikings reduced the gap at the top of the Premier Section to five points after defeating leaders Kennington Club 3-2 at home.
Alan Oliver (5,400), Allan Lacey and Mike Jones (5,290) gave Vikings victory.
Section 1 leaders Berinsfield Club crashed to a 4-1 defeat at Masons A.
Alan Lowe (5,410), Maxi McDonnell (4,960), Mick Murphy (3,890) and Martyn Wood, (3,240) were Masons winners.
Results: Vikings 3, Kennington 2; Masons A 4, Berinsfield 1; Marlborough 4, Masons B 1; Gladiators B 1, West Oxford Democrats 4; Didcot Con Club 2, Gladiators A 3.
