Abingdon Conservative Club A maintained their Premier Division title push in the Gentworks Oxford & District League with a 5-1 victory at Witney A.

Karl Walker compiled a break of 57 as he hammered Witney’s Wayne Reddy 90-0 in their second frame, while teammate Michael Bennett also claimed a 2-0 success.

Ron Reddy avoided a whitewash by edging out Paul Chester 64-54 in their second frame.

Witney slipped to second in Division 1 as a result, with Riley B now on top after a 3-3 draw with their A side.

Altaf Ali starred for Riley B, with breaks of 58 and 51 helping him take both frames against Malcolm Bough.

Riley C drew level on points with Division 2 leaders Abingdon Conservative Club B.

Riley’s 5-1 win over Riley – Oxford University made the difference, with the Abingdon outfit only beating Cowley Conservative Club A 4-2.

Witney D’s Steve Blackman set a new highest break of 40 in Division 3, but still lost both his frames to House Club A’s Tony Smith.

Kennington Social Club B are seven points clear at the top of Division 4 after a 5-1 victory at Kidlington Green B.

There was drama in frame five as Kennington’s Mark Trafford triumphed over Mick Aust on a respotted black.

Aust did at least earn Kid-lington’s solitary point.
