MARBOROUGH Club’s Derek Lucas, Rob Hart and Mark Holtom each rattled off a maximum 180 as they helped their side to a 7-2 home thrashing of Kidlington Green Social Club A in Section 1 of the Greene King ODDA Winter League.
The trio’s heroics, coupled with a victory from Colin Smith, saw the hosts charge into a 4-0 lead.
Although Kidlington pulled one game back after Clinton Cantwell (180) beat Simon Key, the home side restored their advantage when Dan Wyatt beat Mark Stocker.
Marlborough won the pairs 2-1 to complete an impressive display.
Premier side Goodlake Arms saw off Peachcroft Social Club 7-2, thanks to a double maximums from Reg Bower and a Preben Krabben 180. Bower and Peter Jones put the home side 2-0 up, only for Peachcroft to level it up.
But wins from Krabben and Kevin Wilkins, plus a 3-0 pairs victory, ended the visitors’ hopes of a revival.
George Bar A fought back from 3-1 down to win 6-3 at Corner House B in Section 2.
It was looking good when John Cole beat Reece Kerry to put the visitors ahead, only for the hosts to storm back for a lead of 3-1, thanks to wins from Trevor Ballard, Mick Kennett and Mark Kerry However, Wayne Stevens and Carl Pitson made it 3-3, before a 3-0 pairs success completed the turnaround for George.
Vikings Social Club defeated Democrats Social Club 6-3 at home thanks to Gavin Stubbs, Kevin Masterson, Chris Pollard and Sean Stratford, who hit this week’s top out-shot of 140.
Curtis Finemore and Mark Bayliss hit back to cut the deficit, but Vikings won the pairs 2-1 to wrap it up.
Red Lion continued their good start to their Ladies Section 3 campaign with a comfortable win over the visiting Littlemore British Legion A.
Ann Ellis gave the Lion an early lead when she beat Helena Barnard.
The visitors levelled at 1-1 when Sarah Waugh got the better of Tracy Gardiner.
However, Lion then charged into a 5-1 lead, courtesy of wins from Simone Proffitt, Janice Faulkner, Cath Rouse and June Rouse.
Despite losing the pairs 2-1, the Lion ran out eventual winers.
Catherine Wheel A kept up their unbeaten record in Section 5 as they edged home 5-4 at George Bar B.
Paige Green and Helen Pitson gave Catherine Wheel a 2-0 lead, but Bev Massingham pulled one back when she beat Maggie Ashby.
The visitors restored their two-game advantage when Nikki Osborne defeated Ellie Massingham, only for the home to go level at 3-3, thanks to successes from Nikki Peachy and Sheila Pape.
The hosts took the opening pairs game, but Catherine Wheel won the next two to seal victory and preserve their record.
