Callum Bowler and Chris Bateman set new season bests, but could not save Marlborough Club from a 3-2 defeat at Vikings Club.
With their side already trailing 3-0 in the Johnsons Buildbase Oxford League Section 2 clash, Bowler hit the highest away break of 7,320.
And Bateman then set the best away score with 8,070 in the final frame.
Pete Ewins (6,450), Alan Oliver (7,510) and undefeated Ian Moss (10,180) were on song for Vikings.
Premier Section leaders Kennington Club won 4-1 away to Headington Conservative Club.
Ian Gordon defeated his dad, Dave, with Brian Rose, Steven Sheard and Pauline Withey the other winners.
Grant Johnson recorded his highest score of 6,250 in Gladiators Club Bs 3-2 home win over Section 1 side Masons B.
