OXFORD United have been awarded a potentially lucrative FA Cup run after the winners of their first-round replay at Gateshead were told they will be on live television once again.

Next Wednesday’s clash at the International Stadium has been chosen by BT Sport as one of their live matches.

And yesterday, the same channel announced it would show the second-round game between Wrexham and the winners of the replay on Monday, December 9 (7.45pm).

United are already assured of £33,750 from next week’s game with an additional £18,000 if they get through.

If they do beat Gateshead, Chris Wilder’s side are then guaranteed an extra £72,000, with a further £27,000 for the winners of the Wrexham game. It would mean, should Oxford reach the third round, they will pick up more than £150,000.
