Oxford's triathletes brought the 2006 season to a close with an awards night to celebrate the year's triumphs.
The title of triathlete of the year went to Matt Powell, who finished ninth in the men's 30-34 age group at the Olympic distance World Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland, in September.
He was also ranked first in the National Triathlon League.
Oxford Mail reporter Emma-Kate Lidbury was voted best newcomer after only taking up the sport seriously at the start of the year and going on to finish eighth in the women's 25-29 age group at the World Championships Oxford Tri club chairman Hanno Nickau was voted member of the year for his dedication and commitment to the club.
