OXFORD University are planning a “memorable party” to celebrate the life of former captain Joe McPartlin.
The triple Blue Scotland international and long-serving St Edward’s School teacher died last week, aged 75.
His distinguished rugby career also saw him appear for Harlequins, the Barbarians, Oxford, Oxfordshire, Surrey and the Army.
The former centre’s funeral takes place next Thursday at 2pm at the Oxford Oratory, followed by a reception at the Oxford University RFC pavilion.
“We hope that as many of you as possible will join us at Iffley Road and help to make this a memorable party as Joe would have wished,” says an article in the November OURFC newsletter.
