OXFORDSHIRE hammered Berkshire 11-4 at Reading in Division 1C of the Inter-County Championships to avenge an 8-7 home defeat and boost their fight against relegation.

Oxon's four women were unbeaten. Amanda King and Emma Cramond won their singles and then partnered Alison Ross and Sarah Torgersen respectively to take the full four doubles.

They went on to earn a bonus point by winning the full mixed, Torgersen with Dave Buckingham, Ross with Dave Soanes and Cramond with Chris Gibbins.

Meanwhile, despite losing 232-210 to their nearest rivals, Oxon Colts, the Feathers (Banbury) quartet of Emma Cramond, Jenny Bougard, Stuart Quick and Nicola Stidder held on to the lead in Division 1 of the Five Disciplines League.

Round four was hosted by Windrush at Witney. Bougard and Cramond halved their mixed doubles and then Cramond scored an upset by beating county champion Amanda King 25-18, 25-21 to open up a 98-84 lead.

Feathers were kept firmly in check after that, as first Jonathan Campbell in singles and then King with Jeannie Campbell in doubles, picked up 100 points while giving away just 64. With a lead of 184-142 Colts held the upper hand and with the men's doubles finishing in two 25-23 games, first to Bougard and Quick and then to Campbell and his older brother Colin, victory was assured.

The bottom three teams all remained in the same order with Radley and Oxford once again failing to field a full team and in deep trouble over 250 points adrift.
