CHINNOR have re-signed winger Eric Brown from Newbury and he will start in tomorrow's National 3 South clash at Bridgwater & Albion.

The 24-year-old South African, a key man in last season's South West 1 winning team, should give Chinnor a much-needed cutting edge.

And Brown revealed he had been considering a return to Kingsey Road for some time.

He said: "It was a difficult call to make, leaving a club in the middle of the season, but it was coming for a while.

"I didn't get playing time at Newbury and you can't compete when the second team don't play every week.

"You can train on Tuesday and Thursday, but if you don't play on Saturday, you can't compete. All I want is game time.

"If I can play every week, I can start making my mark."

Brown has followed Chinnor's struggling form this season, but he believes they can turn it around.

"There's a few glitches and discipline things that must be sorted out," he said.

"Most of the tries we concede have been scored on the outside.

"If we can get that right, we can definitely get somewhere. The potential is definitely there.

"It's a big move up to National 3. I don't think Chinnor realised how big it would be.

"I'm hoping for the best and we'll see what happens."

Andy Millburn replaces the absent Craig Burrows at lock and Chris Sutton takes over from the injured Ben Hewitt at full back.

Darren Oxley is back on the bench after a spell out of the first-team frame.

Seventh-placed Bridgwater defeated Blackheath in the EDF Energy National Trophy last week.

Lock Carl Cimpoias (calf) is a slight doubt for Oxford Harlequins' trip to Weston-super-Mare in South West 1.

Flanker Phil Vinter returns to the squad as do backs Justin Henley and Stuart McClure, who has finished his university term.
