THAME B turned the tables on their A team knocking them out of the Oxford & District League's Stephen Reiss Cup with a shock 4-1 victory.

Tom Fletcher (+50) led the way for the B team when he thrashed Mark Syrett (+60) 150-83. But Derek Syrett (+100) avenged his son's defeat by beating Peter Hawkes (+125) 100-48 and reducing the B team's lead to a mere 15 points.

In the decider Nigel Bossom (+60) continued with his brilliant form for the B team, by ending Paul Evans (+40) unbeaten run, and making a 31 break in the process to win 200-116, and give the B team an aggregate win by 398-299.

Eynsham entertained Ashton and upset the form book by also winning 4-1.

Mick McCluskey (+90) gave Eynsham an encouraging start when he edged out Keith Maskens (+60) 150-141, despite a 32 break by the latter.

Peter Fenn (+60) levelled the match for Ashton when he edged out Geoff Watson (+90) 150-142 leaving Eynsham leading on aggregate by a single point 292-291.

Roy Gascoyne (+110) then won the match for Eynsham when he hung onto his lead and beat Terry Chambers (-10) 200-129 giving Eynsham an aggregate win of 492-420.

Cowley Conservative Club A came from behind to defeat HCC A 3-2. John Williams (+60) gave HCC A a superb start, avenging his recent league defeat by crushing Keith Pearce (+60) 150-82.

But Lawrie Tucker (+80) swamped Doug Howse (-90) 200-39 to give CCC A, an aggregate lead of 93.

In the decider Arthur Coakley (+90) kept pace with Terry Walsh (+80) and even though he lost 150-120 he had done enough to win the match on aggregate by 402-239.

Tonight, the first round of the Atox Cup will be played. The draw is Fieldside v Riley; Thame B v Thame A; Witney v Morris Motors; Ashton v Eynsham.
