Oxford

15. Chris Mahony (9/10). The pick of the Oxford team. Strong, elusive running from deep. Was a constant threat.

14. Jonan Boto (5). If only he could catch. Dropped at least two passes which could have put him in space. Disappointing game for a quality player.

13. Joe Roff (7). Never quite lived up to the hype and always looked a second ahead of his teammates. Showed too few flashes of brilliance.

12. Jon O'Connor (7). Strong in the tackle and was involved in some penetrative moves.

11. Tom Tombleson (6). Was unable to outgas his opposite number. Solid but failed to capitalise.

10. Craig McMahon (7). Lynchpin of the backline and did what he could with often scrappy possession. Kicked well out of hand.

9. Kevin Brennan (capt) (7). Cleared up as well as he could behind a scrum which was constantly on the back foot. Although inevitably got scragged a couple of times.

1. Ollie Tomaszczyk (5). Under pressure in the scrum throughout. Completely outscrummaged by his opposite number.

2. Winston Cowie (5). Off target on a couple of lineouts and quiet in the loose.

3. Richard Matthews (5). Like Tomaszczyk was well and truly second best to his opposite number.

4. John Chance (7). Won good lineout ball and put in a solid if not spectacular performance.

5. Dylan Alexander (7). Unfortunate to get a yellow card in first half, but came back well and was competitive in the lineout.

6. Doug Abbott (6). Gave away penalty try, but didn't really have a choice. Did a reasonable job in the loose, but didn't shine.

7. Dan Palm (6). Scurried around and couldn't fault his effort, but failed to make his mark on the game.

8. James Jones (6). Carried the ball admirably and never gave up the cause but failed to make good yards.

Cambridge

15. Hamish Murphy (6). Solid and competitive, but failed to make a real impact.

14. Dave Tibbott (9). Looked threatening with ball in hand and breached the defence on several occasions and dealt comfortably with his opposite number.

13. Joe Ansbro (9). Showed moments of class including a wonderful chinking run towards the beginning of the second half and contained Roff well.

12. Stef Thomas (7). Solid in defence but didn't threaten in attack.

11. Dan Stewart (6). Saw little of the ball and did not catch the eye.

10. Johnny Ufton (7). See-saw game. Missed a couple of kicks at goal and was relieved of his duties but out of hand kicked well, putting Cambridge into good positions.

9. Ross Blake (6). Had an easy day behind a big strong pack. Shifted the ball well, but failed to make any darting breaks.

1. Richard Schwikkard (9). Superb up front. Destroyed Matthews in the scrum and noticeable in the loose.

2. Joe Clark (8). Popped up in the loose and made good yards with ball in hand. Despite throwing off target to the lineout on several occasions he put in a strong showing.

3. Jon Dawson (9). Fully deserved the Lehman Brothers man-of-the-match award. Powerful display in the tight and showed fierce power at the breakdown.

4. John Blaikie (7). Led from the front and made some good yards in the loose.

5. Michael Harfoot (7). Competed well in the lineout, combative but quiet away from the set pieces.

6. Nathan Johnson (7). Put in a dogged performance as apart of a highly effective back row.

7. David O'Brien (7). Pressurised McMahon all game and got around the park well.

8. Ed Andrews (6). Unnecessary yellow card. Competent if not spectacular. Dissapointing considering he was at the back of a strong, forward-going pack.
