FRILFORD Heath’s Eddie Pepperell was two shots off the lead after a strong round one display at Kingsbarns.
The Abingdon golfer hit seven birdies in a six-under par 66 to end the day tied for 11th place, with former Ryder Cup player Oliver Fisher among the leaders on eight-under.
Pepperell tees off in his second round on St Andrews’ Old Course at 10.50am today.
