DRAYTON'S Connor Ferguson was put through his paces at the Lawn Tennis Association’s (LTA) National Talent ID Day in Roehampton.

The ten-year-old was among 16 youngsters from across the country invited to the session for his age group at the National Tennis Centre.

Ferguson, who trains at Abigndon’s White Horse Leisure & Tennis Centre, showed off his skills in front of the LTA Talent ID team, who were aiming to spot future performance players.

The pupil of St Nicolas Primary School, Abingdon, said: “I’ve been to Talent IDs before so I know what I am doing and it is fine.

“I think it is good because you learn new drills and all the new stuff to help you practice better.”

LISA Morgan and Ruth Ballantyne won the crucial second runner against Charlotte Smith and Caroline Thom as Blewbury beat Banbury 5-3 in Ladies’ Division 1 of the Thames Valley Winter League.

In Division 2, Faringdon A drew 4-4 with Witney A, with Susanna Hunt and Juliane Spiers winning both their matches for Faringdon to earn the draw.
