CITY of Oxford were not the perfect hosts as crowds lined Donnington Bridge and the towpaths on the 1,850-metre course for the Isis Sculls.

The hosts won a remarkable 23 divisions on their home water – 12 coming from junior members.

The bulk of the others came for their women.

Falcon notched up 11 wins, ranging from veteran women to under 14 youngsters.

The Dragon School, Oxford, notched up four wins, while Oxford Academicals recorded a hat-trick.

Action moves further downstream for the Wallingford Sculls tomorrow.

With an entry drawn from a larger base, more than 400 boats will be racing in three divisions at 10.30am, 1pm and 3.30pm.
