North Leigh 5, Pegasus Jnrs 0 LIAM Hope scored four goals as North Leigh maintained their Hellenic League Premier Division title challenge with their sixth win in a row at Eynsham Park on Saturday.

With Ardley United being held to a draw at Wallingford, North Leigh's win puts them back on top.

Hope opened the scoring midway through the first half after Jamie Jackson's cross had been nodded on by Mark Lewis.

Andy McCabe saw his low shot cleared off the line before Hope made it 2-0 right on half-time from Simon Futcher's cross.

In the second half, the injured Pegasus keeper Watkins was replaced by forward Leigh Harris, who brought off great saves from Hope and McCabe.

Hope secured his hat-trick on the hour mark from McCabe's accurate pass.

New signing Danny Wise came off the bench to make it 4-0 after Joe Burnell's shot bounced back off the bar.

Five minutes from time, Hope notched his fourth goal with a cracking 20 yard-drive.

Milton Utd 2, Thame Utd 1 MILTON completed their third 2-1 success over Thame this season - once in the Floodlit Cup - as this encounter ran true to form.

Initially, it was difficult to distinguish between the teams, as both sides were playing in red shirts.

Milton, however, changed into their blue strip after 20 minutes, and shortly afterwards took the lead through Darren Howell's header from full back Lee Davis's cross.

Thame defender James Tripp was denied by a good save, but just before half-time, Vince Rusher coolly dribbled past visiting keeper Paul Searl to make it 2-0.

Leading scorer, Nathan Jack pulled a goal back for Thame in the 66th minute from Chris Watkins's cross, but they could not score again despite playing with three strikers up front.

Wantage Tn 1, Hounslow Boro 3 WANTAGE'S eight-match unbeaten league run came to an end as they failed to raise their game until the last ten minutes.

There were few chances in the first half. But while Wantage's Adam Giles and Paul Day failed to hit the target, Junior Hickson and Eddie Mee netted for Hounslow in the ten minutes before the interval.

Hickson's soft lob looked like a comfortable gather for Terry Burton in the Wantage goal, but a wicked bounce took it over the line.

In the second half, Wantage gained more possession, and with ten minutes to go Paul Day pulled a goal back.

Then a drive from Wantage's Gary Swann which hit the bar and bounced a foot over the line only was disallowed.

Hounslow broke away with a minute left to add their third goal through Artan Saliu.

Hungerford Tn 1, Witney Utd 0 WITNEY United slumped to their third defeat in four matches.

They suffered a blow before the match when Ben Border was ruled out with a back injury.

The winning goal came on the half-hour when a bright run by Graham Edney saw him upended by Christian Perkins on the edge of the box.

Shaun Terry stepped up and chipped the ball over the wall and into the net, giving keeper Paul Tassell no chance.

The woodwork then came to Witney's rescue. A corner drilled in by Bradley Ward was met by the head of Andy Marriott, but the ball hit the foot of a post.

Hungerford continued to dominate in the second half, although Witney looked to have got a lifeline late on, only for Robbie Wyatt's effort to bes disallowed for offside.

Harrow Hill 0, Abingdon Tn 3 ABINGDON lifted themselves out of the bottom three with an excellent victory away to basement side Harrow Hill.

After a scoreless first half, second-half goals from Garry Hartley (2) and Paul Jezzard saw Abingdon record back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

Kidlington 1, Shrivenham 1 KIDLINGTON came from behind to secure a point against a tall and physical Shrivenham side.

The visitors took the lead after 13 minutes when a long throw into the box was helped on.

Defender Jerry Karpal's clearance hit teammate Darren Clare and fell to Shrivenham skipper Mark Peters who slotted home from close range.

Kidlington winger Morgan Williams was starting to have an influence on the match and equalised in the 37th minute with a cracking low shot.

In an entertaining but goalless second half, Shrivenham's Scott Lane was sent off for a second yellow card after upending Mark Baker.

Kidlington finished strongly, but could not find the winner.

Highworth 1, Carterton 1 CARTERTON recovered some of their self-respect, following their 6-0 midweek 6-0 thrashing by Ardley, by picking up a point.

Steve Avenall put them ahead on the stroke of half-time as he charged down a clearance from the Highworth keeper, and put the ball into the empty net.

Play was held up for ten minutes in the second half by a floodlight failure.

On resumption, Highworth equalised through new signing Matt Pratley, who looked to be offside as stroked the ball into the net.

The returning Mike Duerden should have clinched three points for Carterton, but blasted over an open goal.

Chipping Norton 0, Bicester Town 3 BICESTER had to wait until late in the game before grabbing the points.

The win was comfortable in the end, but the visitors were indebted to their keeper Jeff Simmonds for making two vital one-on-one saves.

Impressive new signing Sean Bott opened his account for the club in the 62nd minute when he burst through and fired in off a post from the edge of the box.

Bott was the architect of the second goal when his fine run from midfield forced the Chippy keeper Mark Harris to bring him down for a penalty.

Harris stayed on the field, however, with only a caution, but was unable to stop the rejuvenated Adam Hamp from stroking the penalty home.

A minute before the end, Hamp got his second when he broke clear and kept his cool to lift the ball over Harris and a recovering defender.
