WILF BENNETT TROPHY
OXFORD retained the trophy with a 114-run hammering of Tiddington in the final at Oxford Downs.
Stewart Laudat led the way with 63 off 30 balls as Oxford amassed a formidable 225-7 from their 20 overs.
He was supported by Tim Sutton (29no), Andrew Clough (25) and Jamie Perkin (22), who punished the Tiddington attack.
Nick Pykett hit 62 off 30 balls in reply, while his brother Ian made 19, but Tiddington also lost some sloppy wickets.
Tom Godsell took 3-20, while part-time bowler Vishane Perera wrapped up the match with a hat-trick from his first three deliveries as Tiddington fell to 111 all out.
Oxford captain Ian Crosby said: “It is always nice to win a trophy.
“It is a shame we weren’t playing in the Bernard Tollett final, but this cup run has given us the chance to introduce some people to first-team cricket.
“It was great to put in a really good performance in the final.
“Tiddington are a good side and we would have got egg on our faces if we didn’t win.”
