Manager Mike Ford admitted spirits were low in the Oxford City camp after his side slipped to a 2-1 defeat at home to Colwyn Bay in Sktill North.

City conceded the winner in the final minute, and Ford felt it was symptomatic of a side lacking confidence.

“I can’t fault anyone today, they gave me everything they can,” he said.

“But other teams have won those games because they’re doing something to win it and we’re not currently doing that.

“I’m not going to pull the wool over anybody's eyes.

“I have a very disappointed group of players who are maybe not at their best.”

But Ford stressed that there is still plenty of time for City to find form and get themselves up the table.

“The season is based over 42 games,” he added.

“Last season we had a great start, a poor spell in the middle and an excellent finish. “This year we’re having that poor spell at the start.”
