OXFORD Hawks ladies looked sharp and determined as they defeated Swansea 3-2 in their opening friendly at Banbury Road North.
Hawks took the lead when Briony Anyon scored from a short corner.
Emily Court crossed for Lex Thomas to make it 2-0 under pressure, but Swansea pulled one back via a deflection.
Kirsty Chapman’s short-corner strike made it 3-1 and although Swansea scored again, Hawks held on for a useful win ahead of their English League Women’s Conference West season opener on September 14.
