Kyle Hughes is to join Oxford Cheetahs as they return to Conference League action next season.
The Chippenham-based youngster made his league debut for Mildenhall in June 2004, five days after his 15th birthday, and went on to make 19 appearances for the quadruple-winning Fen Tigers, averaging 3.49.
He then enjoyed a fabulous season riding for the Oxford Academy in 2005, helping them to the title.
He scored 166 points from 23 league and cup fixtures, with an average of 6.71, and often proved a match-winner from the reserve berth.
With Oxford not entering the 2006 Conference League, Hughes joined Boston Barracuda-Braves, firstly as part of their squad, and then as a regular team member.
However, the move had an unsettling effect on him and he had a difficult year.
It is hoped the Conference team will be announced during the forum at Oxford Stadium on Wednesday, December 20 - the same night the club's Elite League line-up is expected to be revealed.
