Banbury United put on a disappointing display as they were well beaten 3-0 by Hemel Hempstead Town in yesterday’s Premier Division clash at Spencer Stadium.
It was the Puritans second defeat in a row.
The hosts went behind early on when Dave Pearce beat Ben McNamara in the Banbury goal from six yards.
Hemel continued to dominate, though their keeper Laurie Walker tipped a 25-yard piledriver from Aaron Morgan around a post.
Banbury struggled to create any more chances and it was the same after the break.
Hemel almost made it 2-0 on 55 minutes, but Ollie Thorne shot wide.
Nine minutes from time Hemel doubled their lead, Charlie Mpi heading in. The visitors sealed victory in stoppage time when Jordan Parkes tucked home David Hutton’s cross at the far post.
Late on, Pearce almost compounded Banbury’s misery with Hemel’s fourth, but saw his effort come back off the woodwork.
