OXFORD coach Darryl Morvan was satisfied with his team's display, but slammed Solent's "cheap shot" tactics.

He said: "The team performed adequately against a side, that although had spirit, had considerably less ability than Oxford.

"Their two goals were purely down to lapses in concentration.

"Against Solent it didn't hurt us - against better opposition it could be costly, and it's a side of our game the players need to be paying attention to.

"One thing that was disappointing was the cheap-shots that were going unnoticed by the officials.

"Although I can't condone Darren's reaction, I can, as an ex-player, certainly empathise.

"Lukas Szabo was speared full in the stomach by a Solent player who had tried to cheap shot him last week at Solent as well.

"This could have caused serious injury to Lukas, yet it went unpunished.

"I feel at the moment that, referees are too busy watching for the minor obstructions, which results in serious incidents going unpunished.

"On the positive side, our third line of Tom Hooper, Sam Broughton and Patrick Knightley were outstanding.

"The way these three are performing is definitely an asset for us.

"It shows the depth of ability we have in the squad."
