REIGNING champions Saxton Rovers ended their poor run with a 6-2 victory at home to Division 1 rivals Sandman in the Autotype UTV League.

Steve Steptoe struck twice, with Garry Hartley, Michael Quinan, Jim Smith and Steve Pitson also finding the target.

At the other end of the table, it was gloom for East Hendred, who crashed 7-0 against bottom club Standlake Garage, who move up fourth places as a result.

Hendred had the better of the early exchanges, with Jason Fisher always dangerous on the break.

Pete Claridge headed Garage in front, before Chris Palmer and Chris Beesley made it 3-0.

Palmer completed his hat-trick in the second half, before Bennell and Tim Senior completed the rout of Hendred, who finished with ten men as one of their players had to leave early.

Wheatsheaf's promotion hopes in Division 2 were dented by a 6-2 defeat against Kidlington Royals, for whom Andy Wheeler cracked a hat-trick.

Gareth Davies hit a double for Royals, with Chris Thorne also scoring. Wheatsheaf's goals came from John Wilson and Ben Chaffey.

Steve Skyrme's late strike gave title favourites Wheatley Park aa thrilling 4-3 win at OUP Wanderers.

Goals from Ellis Bicknell and Jay Brown put OUP 2-1 ahead, but despite a third strike from Alan Brown, efforts from Alex Luckett (2), James Luckett and Skyrme gave Wheatley the points.

Goodlake Arms contin- ued their topsy-turvy season, when Steve Madge's double helped them to a 4-0 away win at Research Machines.

Clint Hedges and Neil Morris scored the other goals for Goodlake, all of whose goals came in the second half.

Henry Box OAs stunned leaders AFC Cowley 4-2 in Division 3A.

Jon Barker (2), Joe Turner and Matthew Sykes gave Henry Box their first away win, with strikes from Mark Barrett and Daniel Richmond proving in vain.

Lewis Monaghan was the hat-trick hero as Didcot Casuals held onto third spot in Division 3B with a 4-0 home win against rivals White Horse Abingdon.

Ashley Wilcox was the other Casuals scorer.

Allbrite are another side looking for promotion. Shaun Brown hit a hat-trick hero in their 5-0 win at Sandman Res. Rob Taylor and Gareth Jones completed the scoring.
