BOTLEY United caused a big upset in the North Berks Cup by knocking out Division 2 leaders Wootton & Dry Sandford 8-7 on penalties after their second-round tie finished 4-4, writes ANDY WELLS.

Despite having Andy Humphreys sent off for a bad tackle after only ten minutes, fourth division Botley cruised into a 3-0 lead through Dave Humphreys, Billy Reed and Carl Parker.

Wootton hauled themselves level by the hour-mark, but James Bruce restored Botley's lead only for the visitors to grab a late equaliser.

However, Botley had the last word in the penalty shoot-out.

In Division 1, Adam Summers stabbed home a late equaliser for Wallingford Athletic in a 1-1 draw against title-chasing Saxton Rovers.

Kevin Giddings had given Saxton an early lead, but they were unable to hold on.

Two Luke Westall goals helped Marcham to their first league win of the season as they beat defending champions Lambourn Sports 3-2.

Nick Lewis scored Marcham's other goal with Jason Brizel and Mickey Durkin netting for the visitors.

Faringdon Town moved up to third with a 5-2 win at East Hendred.

Matthew Pill (2), Robert Lovegrove (pen), Gary Sutton and Robbie Harrington scored for Town.

A first-half goal from Johnny Pearce gave Blewbury a much-needed 1-0 home win against Coleshill United.

Long Wittenham Athletic gained their first win of the season in Division 2 with a 2-0 victory against fellow strugglers Stanford-in-the- Vale.

Steve Molloy and a Danny Osborne penalty did the trick for Long Wittenham.

Harwell International maintained their unbeaten record with a 4-2 victory against Saxton Rovers Res.

Darren Carter, Adam McConnell (pen), Dave Bartlett and Nick Townsend netted for Harwell.

In Division 4, Challow United twice came from behind to clinch a 3-2 victory over Stanford-in-the-Vale Res, with Jake Rowe, Kevin Pryde and Neil Cheshire with a deflected free-kick were on target.
