HORSPATH reasserted their position as Division 1 title favourites by thrashing Thame Town while their key rivals all drew.

Lee Mason (3-29) and Adam Krol (3-30) did the damage as Thame were 164 all out. Mike Higgs and Deon Laubscher both scored 35.

Robbie Eason (48) got the ball rolling after tea, then his younger brother Will and Jimmy Phillips both hit exactly 50 not out as the visitors reached 166-1 from 28.3 overs.

Horspath lead by 31 points after Buckingham Town and Banbury 2nd drew.

Put into bat, Banbury scored at more than five runs an over in reaching 280-6.

Chris Thompson (72) and Jacques Prinsloo (47) gave them a great start and Steve Beck hit a rapid 48.

Rob Large (49), Simon Myatt (56) and then Callum Price (62) kept Town in the hunt.

But Prinsloo (5-88) kept going, as Town made 257-8.

Andrew Buckingham’s Cherwell League career ended in defeat and 59.

Buckingham is returning to New Zealand and will be sad to be leaving Oxford Downs facing the drop. They conceded 230-9 at home to Great Brickhill, with Anton DeBeer hitting 51 and Graeme Carter 39, while Richard Beer took 4-81.

Garth Davson took 6-83 as Downs were all out for 195 despite Buckingham's 59 and Frankie Crouch's 54.

Shaun Miller took 4-50 for Shipton-under-Wychwood, who restricted Leighton Buzzard Town to 198-8.

Dan Scott (39) and Sam Janes (30) were Town’s stars.

Shane Duff, Simon Hole and Craig Wood all made 36 for the home side, while Tom Light (3-41) and Alan Priestley (3-47) kept the visitors in the hunt.

But Shipton’s middle order held firm in 199-7.

Afzal took 4-63, but Akheam Fox (46) and Joe Porter (45no) secured a draw for the visitors on 162-7.

ALI Morteza took four wickets and smashed 86 to help Cumnor beat Bledlow Village with four balls to spare and extend their lead at the top of to 40 points.

Bledlow made 243 before being bowled out in their final over. Matt Pearce (82), Ryan Chapman (48) and Manoj Parmar (31) were all in the runs. Adam Cook (5-99) and Morteza (4-64) had to work for their wickets.

Morteza was then supported by John Williams (52no) and James Lee (37), as the home side reached 247-5.

Will Cooper’s 94 not out helped Tiddington beat Aston Rowant 2nd and edge into the promotion places.

Rowant were defending 205, which would have been higher had Ashley Haw (47), Ben Mills (40) and Chris Eaton (36) stayed around.

Phil Pykett took 4-42 for the home side, then watched Cooper and Jon Talbot (42) steer them home at 208-4.

Paul White took 5-13 to help dismiss Cropredy for only 89 and set up a double for Abingdon Vale.

Vale were defending 178, with David Dyer (56) and Charles Smook (35) supplying more than half their runs, while Adam Goodway enjoyed a season’s best 5-21.

Challow & Childrey let Wolverton Town get away to 231 and then fell 48 runs short in pursuit.

Zak Wade (65), Kieran Lampard (58) and Curtley Ewins (32) shone, while Ross Packham picked up 4-57.

Conor Jones (42), Justin Penrose (36) and Luke Jones (33) kept Challow interested, but Zahoor ur Reham (4-32), Zaheer Khan (3-28) and Mohammad Shabzad (3-60) eased them out for 183.

Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts eased their relegation fears by beating Bletchley Town.

In reaching 212-9 Nondies passed 200 for the first time this season, thanks mainly to Joel Calcutt (65).

Owen Venables then took 6-35 to dismiss Town for 158.

SANDFORD St Martin overcame a middle-order collapse to et Shipton-under-Wychwood 2nd what turned out to be an unassailable target.

From 54-1 and 82-2, Sandford slipped to 133-8 before skipper Paul Tanner hit a defiant 53 not out to steer his side to 197.

Shipton stalwart Anthony rior-Wandesforde (3-48) was the most successful visiting bowler. None of the Shipton batsmen could get going after tea, with wickets falling at frequent intervals.

Martin Anson took 3-12 when the teams played out a ain-affected draw on the opening day, and fared even better in the re-match, taking the first five wickets.

At 51-5 Shipton were out of contention, and eventually they fell away to 127 all out.

Banbury 3rd were bowled ut for a meagre 86 by Oxford Downs 2nd – only five runs more than they managed when the two sides met on the opening day of the season.

Tom Ward took 3-22 for Downs, who wrapped up victory before tea thanks to Will Sensecall’s knock of 48.

Defeat means Banbury now return to the bottom of the able after finishing the day pointless.

Mark Skelton took 3-17 from 12 miserly overs to help dismiss Bicester for 115.

Joey Todd (63no) then took the visiting bowlers apart in no uncertain manner as the rampant osts took the honours by racing to 117-2 from 18.4 overs.

Faisal Ali picked up 5-39 for Dinton 2nd but his impressive efforts in soaring temperatures were in vain.

Steve Moss (70), Mark Green (69) and Pete Toovey (42no) made hay as Marston amassed 232 all out, before the visitors succumbed for 127.

Long Marston 25, Dinton 2nd 6 Bledlow Ridge collected enough points to take them off the bottom of the table despite losing at leaders Cublington.

Greg Jenkins (4-35) helped restrict Ridge to 165-9 from their 53 overs.

Then Joe Leonard (55) and Bill Burton (47) saw the home side to 168-4 with more than seven vers in hand.

Horley reached 279-6 including a 169-run stand between Darren de Bruyn, who hit a 103 not out, and Dave Clark (87).

Ali Malik took 4-39 for the home side and was unbeaten on 35 at the end.

Atif Ali top scored with 77, while Ali Shah hit 40.

East Oxford 25pts, Horley 12

Ian Demain took 5-60 and hit an unbeaten 54 as Didcot again thrashed Stokenchurch.

Jordan Morrison (4-16) was also in the wickets as the visitors were toppled for 127, then Simon Pritchard matched Demain’s score as Didcot made 128-2 in only 22.4 overs.

Stokenchurch were penalised five points so ended the day with two fewer points than they started.

Malcolm Evans hit 116 not out in Witney Mills’ four-wicket win over Chearsley.

Ed Holland’s 4-46 for the isitors proved to be in vain.

Earlier Mark Sheehan (78), Aaron Huish (69no), Miles Picknett (46) and Julian Lawton-Smith (36) were in the runs when Oxford amassed 252-3.

Bradley Rose hit 91 when Kimble met Thame Town 2nd on the opening day, and this time starred by taking 3-28.

Thame were all out for 144, which Kimble passed for the loss of eight wickets despite the efforts of Ian McStay 4-30) and Ed Goggs (3-30).

CAPTAIN Justin Hemming hit his first ton but it was in vain as his Shipton-under-Wychwood 3rd lost by one wicket to Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts 3rd in Division 8.

Hemming hit an unbeaten 128 in Shipton’s 275-4 from their 45 overs, but 91 from Andy Haynes fired Nondies to 276-9.

Kingston Bagpuize 2nd beat Cumnor 3rd, with Phil Hickman’s 7-68 thwarting Cumnor as they chased 173-8, falling short by three runs.

Paul Humphreys took 7-32 for Aston Rowant 3rd in a six-wicket win over Sandford St Martin in Division 6, Mark Walker scoring 57 to help Aston Rowant to 160-4.

In Division 7, East Oxford 2nd restricted Bicester & North Oxford 2nd to 123 from 32 overs.

A score of 41 for Ben Clarke was not enough for Bicester as Muhammed Imran took 6-35. East Oxford reached 127-4.

In Division 9, Ian Harris took 5-71 for Brackley 2nd against Horspath 4th, but couldn’t match Baganathan Raganathan, who returned fine figures of 7-36.

Derek Watts hit 53 to help Horspath reach Brackley’s target of 162.

Ashley Hunt’s 86 for Stokenchurch 2nd in their Division 10 clash with Shipton-under-Wychwood 4th couldn’t stop Simon Dickens’ who took 8-69 to bowl Stokenchurch out for 172. Shipton won by four wickets.
